Pearson Runs for Re-Election BROOKES AVE., May 9, 2008 - It is an honor to serve my neighborhood in the legislature. Montpelier is a frustrating place. But the issues we face are too important to turn away. I am learning how to become more effective all the time. As the chair of the Progressive Caucus I am also getting better at putting pressure on leadership to consider alternative points of view. I look forward to talking with my district as I go door to door. But you don't need to wait for me to show up. I work for you. If there is a question you want answers to, I'm happy to try and help. Find me here. In the meantime, here is a quick summary some of us did at the end of the 2008 legislative session. We won't win any production awards, but it gives you a good overview of what we're up to. Voters send Pearson back to Montpelier November 7th, 2006 - the Pearson/Zuckerman team were enthusiastically elected! We extend a hearty thank you to people who showed up and voted in one of our country's most historic elections. ![]() Mayor Bob Kiss hands off VT House plate 54 - 4/11/2006 In April Governor Douglas asked me to fill the vacancy left as Bob Kiss took over the mayor’s seat in Burlington. I was honored to serve my community and tried my best to influence the discussion in Montpelier. I learned a lot in the short time I was there. Now I am running for election with my district mate and friend, David Zuckerman. We are two of six Progressives elected in Montpelier. We work hard to steer the discussion to issues that really matter to the people of our district and state: significant health care reform, a new formula for funding education (based on the income tax, not the property tax), support for small business, environmental sanity, livable wages, job security and more. It's hard going. There are a lot of people who would much rather just talk about issues without really changing anything. I approach politics with a certain amount of reluctance. Let's face it, the whole system is somewhat off putting. But we don't have the option of turning away. It's just too important, even on the state level. Government has an enormous impact on each of us and it should better reflect our priorities. By that I mean, I would like to see government working for people that live paycheck to paycheck. I strongly believe that is most of us. Take a look around the site and please do not hesitate to get in touch with questions or comments. And don’t forget to vote November 7th or earlier. With your help, we can turn the priorities in Montpelier around. ![]() |
